Some
of My Favorite Song Lyrics
My Favorite Popular Song Lyrics
Notes on the Search for Lyrics
The more recent and popular the album and the song the more difficult it is to find the lyrics. I like Randy Newman's The Great Nations of Europe from the 1999 Bad Love album. But until Helen from CA sent me the lyrics in November, 2005 I was only able to get part of the song.
The corporate desire is to get me to buy the album, not to give me the lyrics. New and popular lyrics are aggressively blocked from the internet.
I'm interested in so much music and so many books I can't afford to buy them all. It's extremely rare that I buy any CD's and I have never downloaded any MP3's. I rarely buy books, and when I do, I usually get them at Half Price Books, Quarter Price Books, or 75 Percent Off Books.
I've chosen not to include my favorite ZZ Tops songs below. With ZZ Tops, voice is primarily instrumental, rather than a purveyor of lyrics. That's a fancy way of saying my favorite songs by them are lewd, crude, socially unacceptable and desperately short.
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts 1982 album I Love Rock and Roll, has great music and printable lyrics that are slightly less crude. With my favorite song, Crimson and Clover, the lyrics just aren't particularly memorable, other than being repeated a lot.
Alfred
The Great Nations of Europe
Had gathered on the shore
They'd conquered what was behind them
And now they wanted more
So they looked to the mighty ocean
And took to the western sea
The great nations of Europe in the sixteenth century
Hide your wives and daughters
Hide the groceries too
Great nations of Europe coming through
The Grand Canary Islands
First land to which they came
They slaughtered all the canaries
Which gave the land its name
There were natives there called Guanches
Guanches by the score
Bullets, disease, the Portugese, and they weren't there anymore
Now they're gone, they're gone, they're really gone
You've never seen anyone so gone
They're a picture in a museum
Some lines written in a book
But you won't find a live one no matter where you look
Hide your wives and daughters
Hide the groceries too
Great nations of Europe coming through
Columbus sailed for India
Found Salvador instead
He shook hands with some Indians and soon they all were dead
They got TB and typhoid and athlete's foot
Diptheria and the flu
Excuse me - Great nations coming through
Balboa found the pacific
And on the trail one day
He met some friendly Indians
Whom he was told were gay
So he had them torn apart by dogs on religious grounds they say
The great nations of Europe were quite holy in their way
Now they're gone, they're gone, they're really gone
You've never seen anyone so gone
Some bones hidden in a canyon
Some paintings in a cave
There's no use trying to save them
There's nothing left to save
Hide your wives and daughters
Hide your sons as well
With the great nations of Europe you never can tell
From where you and I are standing
At the end of a century
Europes have sprung up everyone as even I can see
But there on the horizon as a possiblity
Some bug from out of Africa might come for you and me
Destroying everything in its path
From sea to shining sea
Like the great nations of Europe
In the sixteenth century

DREAMING - (Deborah Harry/Chris Stein) Eat to the Beat 1979
When I met you in the
restaurant you could tell I was no debutante
You asked me what's my pleasure; "A movie or a measure"?
I'll have a cup of tea and tell you of my dreaming
Dreaming is free
Dreaming, dreaming is free
I don't want to live on charity
Pleasure's real or is it fantasy?
Real to real is living rarity
People stop and stare at me we just walk on by
We just keep on dreaming
Feet, feet, walking a two mile
Meet, meet, meet me at the turnstile
I never met him I'll never forget him
Dream, dream, even for a little while
Dream, dream, filling up an idle hour
Fade away radiate
I sit by and watch the river flow
I sit by and watch the traffic go
Imagine something of your very own; something you can have and hold
I'd build a road in gold just to have some dreaming
Dreaming is free
Dreaming, dreaming is free
PRETTY BABY - (Harry/Stein) Parallel Lines 1978
Stars live in the evening but
the very young need the sun
Pretty baby you look so heavenly
A neo nebula from under the sun
I was forming some say I had my chance
The boys were falling like an avalanche
ya' ya' baby "La Dolce Vita" is a magic dance
No one was listening
Pretty baby petite ingenue teenage starlet I fell in love with you
You you with the comb
You look ok in every way
Ah I should have known you'd look at me and look away oh
Pretty baby you look so heavenly
A neo nebula from under the sun
Eyes that tell me "incense and peppermints"
Your looks are larger than life
Long live innocence
Petite ingenue I fell in love with you

Janis Joplin, Me and Bobby McGee
Busted flat in Baton Rouge
Waitin' for a train
When I was feelin' near as faded as my jeans
Bobby thumbed a diesel down
Just before it rained
That rode us all away to New Orleans
I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandana
I was playin' soft while Bobby sang the blues
Windshield wipers slappin' time
I was holding Bobby's hand in mine
We sang every song that driver knew
Freedom is just another word
For nothin' left to lose
Nothin' don't mean nothin, hon
If it ain't free
Yeah, feelin' good was easy Lord
When he sang the blues
You know feeling good was good enough for me
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee
From the Kentucky coalmines
To the California sun
Yeah, Bobby shared the secrets of my soul
Through all kinds of weather
Through every thing that we done
Yeah Bobby baby, kept me from the cold
One day up near Salinas, Lord
I let him slip away
He's looking for that home
And I hope he finds it
Well I'd trade all of my tomorrows
For one single yesterday
To be holdin' Bobby's body next to mine
Freedom is just another word
For nothin' left to lose
Nothin' and that's all that Bobby left me
But feelin' good was easy Lord
When he sang the blues
Hey, feelin' good was good enough for me
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee

The Walls Came Down By THE CALL
Album: THE BREAKERS '83 - 18 Original Hits by the Original Artists
Weh-hell
Well they blew the horns
And the walls came down
They'd all been warned
And the walls came dow-own
They stood there laughing
They're not laughing anymor-ore
The walls came down, Ahhh
Sanctuary fades, Congregation splits
Nightly military raids, The congregation splits
It's a song of assassins
Ringin' in your ears
We got terrorists thinking
Playing on fears
Well they blew the horns
And the walls came down
They'd all been warned
But the walls came down
I don't think there are any Russians
And there ain't noYanks
Just corporate criminals
Playin' with tanks

Special
Garbage – Version 2.0 1998
I'm living without you but
I know all about you
I have run you down into the ground
Spread disease about you over town
I used to adore you
I couldn't control you
There was nothing that I wouldn't do
To keep myself around and close to you
Do you have an opinion
A mind of your own
I thought you were special
I thought you should know
But I've run out of patience
I couldn't care less
Do you have an opinion
A mind of your own
I thought you were special
I thought you should know
I used to amuse you
But I knew that I'd lose you
Now you're here and begging for a chance
But there's no way in hell I'd take you back
Do you have an opinion
A mind of your own
I thought you were special
I thought you should know
But I've run out of patience
I've run out of comments
I'm tired of the violence
I couldn't care less
I'm looking for a new infection
(x4)
But we were the talk of the town (x4)
I thought you were special (repeat until end)
Crocodile Rock
Music by Elton
John Lyrics by Bernie Taupin
Available on the album Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player
I remember when
rock was young
Me and Suzie had so much fun
holding hands and skimming stones
Had an old gold Chevy and a place of my own
But the biggest kick I ever got
was doing a thing called the Crocodile Rock
While the other kids were Rocking Round the Clock
we were hopping and bopping to the Crocodile Rock
Well Crocodile Rocking is something shocking
when your feet just can't keep still
I never knew me a better time and I guess I never will
Oh Lawdy mama those Friday nights
when Suzie wore her dresses tight
and the Crocodile Rocking was out of sight
But the years went by and the rock just died
Suzie went and left us for some foreign guy
Long nights crying by the record machine
dreaming of my Chevy and my old blue jeans
But they'll never kill the thrills we've got
burning up to the Crocodile Rock
Learning fast as the weeks went past
we really thought the Crocodile Rock would last

Love Is A Stranger
Love is a stranger
In an open car
To tempt you in
And drive you far away
And I want you
And I want you
And I want you so
It's an obsession
Love is a danger
Of a different kind
To take you away
And leave you far behind
And love love love
Is a dangerous drug
You have to receive it
And you still can't
Get enough of the stuff
It's savage and it's cruel
And it shines like destruction
Comes in like the flood
And it seems like religion
It's noble and it's brutal
It distorts and deranges
And it wrenches you up
And you're left like a zombie
And I want you
And I want you
And I want you so
It's an obsession
It's guilt edged
Glamorous and sleek by design
You know it's jealous by nature
False and unkind
It's hard and restrained
And it's totally cool
It touches and it teases
As you stumble in the debris
And I want you
And I want you
And I want you so
It's an obsession

Okay, and one disgusting, guilty pleasure song:
Mac Arthur Park
Words and Music by Jimmy Webb
Sung by Richard Harris
on his A Tramp Shining CD
Preface: Yes, Richard Harris is a proud Irshman - but at the time of Mac Arthur's Park release the Press [not me] called him English!
...Seven minutes in length in its recorded form, and full of neoclassical passages, the song seemed to break all the rules for becoming a hit. Yet the poignant signing of England's Richard Harris, and the sheer poetry of Webb's lyrics combined for a number one record hit, and a song that developed a bevy of other recorded versions.
"Spring was never waiting for us girl, it ran one step ahead, as we followed in a dance. Between the parted pages and were pressed in love's hot fevered iron, like a strip-ed pair of pants. Mac Arthur's Park is melting in the dark, all the sweet green icing flowing down. Someone left the cake out in the rain. I don't think that I can take it, 'cause it took so long to bake it, and I'll never have the recipe again. Oh no...
I recall the yellow cotton dress foaming like a wave on the ground around your knees. And the birds like tender babies in your hands and the old men playing checkers, by the trees. Mac Arthur's Park is melting in the dark, all the sweet green icing flowing down. Someone left the cake out in the rain. I don't think that I can take it, 'cause it took so long to bake it, and I'll never have the recipe again. Oh no...
There would be another song for me, for I will sing it. There would be another dream for me, someone will bring it. I will drink the wine while it is warm and never let you catch me looking at the sun. And after all the loves of my life, after all the loves of my life, you'll still be the one. I will take my life into my hands and I will use it. I will win the worship in their eyes, and I will lose it. I will have the things that I desire and my passions flow like rivers through the sky. And after all the loves of my life, oh after all the loves of my life, I'll be thinking of you. And wondering why....
Mac Arthur's Park is melting in the dark, all the sweet green icing flowing down. Someone left the cake out in the rain. I don't think that I can take it, 'cause it took so long to bake it, and I'll never have the recipe again. Oh no.... Oh no.... Oh...... Oh no."

Guns n Roses - Sweet Child o' Mine
She's got a smile that it
seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything
Was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that special place
And if I stared too long
I'd probably break down and cry
Sweet child o'
mine
Sweet love of mine
She's got eyes of the
bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I hate to look into those eyes
And see an ounce of pain
Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place
Where
as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder
And the rain
To quietly pass me by
Sweet child o' mine
Sweet love of mine
Where do we go?
Where do we go now?
Where do we go?
Sweet child o' mine

The Promise - When in Rome
If you need a friend, don't look to a stranger,
You know in the end, I'll always be there.
But when you're in doubt, and when you're in danger,
Take a look all around, and I'll be there.
I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right
words to say.
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be.
But if you'll wait around awhile, I'll make you fall for me,
I promise you, I promise you I will.
When your day is through, and so is your temper,
You know what to do, I'm gonna always be there.
Sometimes if I shout, it's not what's intended.
These words just come out, with no gripe to bear.
I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right
words to say.
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be.
But if you'll wait around awhile, I'll make you fall for me,
I promise you, I promise you...
I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right
words to say.
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be.
And if I had to walk the world, I'd make you fall for me,
I promise you, I promise you I will.
I gotta tell you, I gotta tell you, I need to tell you...
I will. I will

Dallas Album Jimmy Dale Gillmore 1989 Jimmie Dale Gilmore
Did you ever see Dallas from a DC-9
at night?
Well Dallas is a jewel, oh yeah, Dallas is a beautiful sight.
And Dallas is a jungle but Dallas gives a beautiful light.
Did you ever see Dallas from a DC-9 at night?
Well, Dallas is a woman who will
walk on you when you're down.
But when you are up, she's the kind you want to take around.
But Dallas ain't a woman to help you get your feet on the ground.
Yes Dallas is a woman who will walk on you when you're down.
Well, I came into Dallas with the
bright lights on my mind,
but I came into Dallas with a Dollar and a dime.
Dallas is a rich man with a death wish in his eyes.
A steel and concrete soul with a warm hearted love disguise.
A rich man who tends to believe in his own lies.
Dallas is a rich man with a death wish in his eyes.
Did you ever see Dallas from a DC-9 at night?

Minnie the Moocher
Folks, now here's the story 'bout Minnie the
Moocher,
She was a red-hot hootchie-cootcher,
She was the roughest, toughest frail,
But Minnie had a heart as big as a whale.
[Call and response scat chorus differs every
time. The following is simplified:]
Hi-de-hi-de-hi-di-hi!
Ho-de-ho-de-ho-de-ho!
He-de-he-de-he-de-he!
Ho-de-ho-de-ho!
Now, she messed around with a bloke named Smoky,
She loved him though he was cokie,
He took her down to Chinatown,
He showed her how to kick the gong around.
Now, she had a dream about the king of Sweden,
He gave her things that she was needin',
He gave her a home built of gold and steel,
A diamond car with a platinum wheel.
Now, he gave her his townhouse and his racing
horses,
Each meal she ate was a dozen courses;
She had a million dollars worth of nickels and dimes,
And she sat around and counted them all a billion times.
Poor Min, poor Min, poor Min.

Tom's Diner by Suzanne Vega, 1987
I am sitting
in the morning
at the diner
on the corner
I am waiting
at the counter
for the man
to pour the coffee
And he fills it
only halfway,
and before I even argue
He is looking out the window
at somebody comming in
It is always nice to see you
says the man behind the counter
to the woman who has come in
she is shaking her umbrella
And I look the other way
as they are kissing their hellos
and I'm pretending not to see them
and instead I pour the milk
I open up the paper
there's a story of an actor
who had died while he was drinking
It was no one I had heard of
And I'm turning to the horoscopes
and looking for the funnies
when I'm feeling someone's watching me
and so I raise my head
There's a woman on the outside
looking inside, does she see me?
No she does not realy see me,
cuz she sees her own reflecion
And I'm trying not to notice
that she's hitching up her skirt
and while she's straightening her stockings,
her hair has gotten wet
Oh this rain it will continue
through the morning as I'm listening
to the bells of the cathedral
...and I'm thinking of your voice
...and the midnight picnic
once upon a time
before the rain began
And I finish up my coffee,
and it's time to catch the train

Words and Music by The Leighton Brothers and Ren Shieldswith some Traditional melodies Verse 1: Frankie and Johnny were lovers, Oh, Lordy how they could love. They swore to be true to each other, just as true as the stars above, He was her man, But he done her wrong. Verse 2: Frankie and Johnny went walking, Johnny in his brand new suit, That Frankie had bought for a bundle just to make her man look cute, He was her man, But he done her wrong. Verse 3: Frankie went down to the corner, Stopped for a bucket of beer. She said "Oh Mister Bartender, Has my man Johnny been here? He is my man, but I think he's doing me wrong." Verse 4: He said: "Ain't gonna tell you no story, Ain't gonna tell you no lie. Johnny was here about an hour ago With a gal named Nellie Bly He was your man, But now he's doing you wrong." Verse 5: Frankie went down to the hock shop, Bought her a little forty-four Pointed it up at the ceiling and shot a hole in the floor. Where is my man, he's doing me wrong. Verse 6: Frankie went down to the hotel. She rang that hotel bell. "Tell me where my man Johnny is or I'll blow you all to" well. He was my man, but now he's doing me wrong." Verse 7: Frankie looked over the transom, and there to her great surprise There on the bed was her Johnny, making love to Nellie Bly There was her man, and he was doing her wrong. Verse 8: Frankie threw back her kimono, She took out the little forty four. Roota-toot-toot, three times did she shoot right through that hardwood door. She shot her man because he done her wrong. Verse 9: Johnny he grabbed off his Stetson, Oh my God, please Frankie don't shoot. But Frankie put her finger on the trigger, and once again went roota-toot-toot. For he was her man, and he had done her wrong. Verse 10: O roll me over easy, O roll me over slow, Roll me over on my right side honey where the bullets ain't hurting me so. You've shot your man, 'cause he done you wrong. Verse 11: Bring out the rubber tired hearses, bring out your rubber tired hack, There's twelve men going to the graveyard, and eleven coming back He was her man, but he done her wrong. Verse 12: Frankie she said to the warden, what are they going to do? The warden he said to Frankie, it's the sizzling hot chair for you You shot your man, though he done you wrong. Verse 13: This story has no moral, this story has no end, This story only goes to show that there ain't no good in men... He was her man, and he done her wrong.

Raspberry Beret
I was working part time in a five-and-dime
My boss was Mr. McGee
He told me several times that he didn't like my kind
'Cause I was a bit 2 leisurely
Seems that I was busy doing something close 2 nothing
But different than the day before
That's when I saw her, Ooh, I saw her
She walked in through the out door, out door
She wore a
Raspberry beret
The kind U find in a second hand store
Raspberry beret
And if it was warm she wouldn't wear much more
Raspberry beret
I think I love her
Built like she was
She had the nerve 2 ask me
If I planned 2 do her any harm
So, look here
I put her on the back of my bike
And-a we went riding
Down by old man Johnson's farm
I said now, overcast days never turned me on
But something about the clouds and her mixed
She wasn't 2 bright
But I could tell when she kissed me
She knew how 2 get her kicks
She wore a
Raspberry beret
The kind U find in a second hand store
Raspberry beret
And if it was warm she wouldn't wear much more
Raspberry beret
I think I love her
The rain sounds so cool when it hits the barn roof
And the horses wonder who U are
Thunder drowns out what the lightning sees
U feel like a movie star
Listen
They say the first time ain't the greatest
But I tell ya
If I had the chance 2 do it all again
I wouldn't change a stroke
'Cause baby I'm the most
With a girl as fine as she was then
(Raspberry beret)
The kind U find (The kind U find)
The kind U find (In a second hand store)
Oh no no
(Raspberry beret)
(And if it was warm)
Where have all the raspberry women gone? (She wouldn't wear much
more)
Yeah (Raspberry beret)
I think I... I think I... I think I love her
(Raspberry beret)
No No No
No No No (The kind U find)
(In a second hand store)
(Raspberry beret)
Tell me
Where have all the raspberry women gone? (And if it was warm she)
(Wouldn't wear much more)
(Raspberry beret)
I think I love...

Paradise By
Dash Board Light
By : MeatLoaf
..
Boy:
.
I remember every little thing As if it happened only yesterday
Parking by the lake And there was not another car in sight
And I never had a girl Looking any better than you did
And all the kids at school They were wishing they were me that night
And now our bodies are oh so close and tight
It never felt so good, it never felt so right
And we're glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife
C'mon! Hold on tight! C'mon! Hold on tight!
Though it's cold and lonely in the deep dark night
I can see paradise by the dashboard light
.
Girl:
.
Ain't no doubt about it
We were doubly blessed
Cause we were barely seventeen And we were barely dressed
Ain't no doubt about it
Baby got to go and shout it
Ain't no doubt about it
We were doubly blessed
.
Boy:
.
Cause we were barely seventeen
And we were barely dressed
Baby doncha hear my heart
You got it drowning out the radio
I've been waiting so long For you to come along and have some fun
And I gotta let ya know
No you're never gonna regret it
So open up your eyes
I got a big surprise
It'll feel all right
Well I wanna make your motor run
And now our bodies are oh so close and tight
It never felt so good, it never felt so right
And we're glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife
C'mon! Hold on tight! C'mon! Hold on tight!
Though it's cold and lonley in the deep dark night
I can see paradise by the dashboard light Paradise by the dashboard light
You got to do what you can And let Mother Nature do the rest
Ain't no doubt about it
We were doubly blessed
Cause we were barely seventeen And we were barely--
We're gonna go all the way tonight
We're gonna go allt he way An tonight's the night...
.
Radio Broadcast:
.
Ok, here we go, we got a real pressure cooker going here, two down, nobody on,
no score, bottom of the ninth, there's the wind-up and there it is, a line shot
up the middle, look at him go. This boy can really fly! He's rounding first and
really turning it on now, he's not letting up at all, he's gonna try for second;
the ball is bobbled out in center, and here comes the throw, and what a throw!
He's gonna slide in head first, here he comes, he's out! No, wait, safe--safe at
second base, this kid really makes things happen out there. Batter steps up to
the plate, here's the pitch-- he's going, and what a jump he's got, he's trying
for third, here's the throw, it's in the dirt-- safe at third! Holy cow, stolen
base! He's taking a pretty big lead out there, almost daring him to try and pick
him off. The pitcher glance over, winds up, and it's bunted, bunted down the
third base line, the suicide squeeze in on! Here he comes, squeeze play, it's
gonna be close, here's the throw, there's the play at the plate, holy cow, I
think he's gonna make it!
.
Boy
.
Let Me Sleep On It
.
Girl:
.
Stop right there!
I gotta know right now!
Before we go any further--!
Do you love me?
Will you love me forever?
Do you need me?
Will you never leave me?
Will you make me so happy for the rest of my life?
Will you take me away and will you make me your wife?
Do you love me!? Will you love me forever!? Do you need me!?
Will you never leave me!?
Will you make me so happy for the rest of my life!?
Will you take me away and will you make me your wife!?
I gotta know right now Before we go any further Do you love me!!!?
Will you love me forever!!!?
.
Boy:
.
Let me sleep on it Baby, baby let me sleep on it Let me sleep on it And I'll
give you my answer in the morning
Let me sleep on it Baby, baby let me sleep on it Let me sleep on it And I'll

III. Praying for the End of Time
.
Boy:
.
I couldn't take it any longer Lord I was crazed
And when the feeling came upon me
Like a tidal wave I started swearing to my god and on my mother's grave
That I would love you to the end of time
I swore that I would love you to the end of time!
So now I'm praying for the end of time
To hurry up and arrive
Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you
I don't think that I can really survive
I'll never break my promise or forget my vow
But God only knows what I can do right now
I'm praying for the end of time
It's all that I can do Praying for the end of time,
so I can end my time with you!!!
.
Boy:
.
It was long ago and it was far away and it was so much better than it is today
.
Girl:
.
It never felt so good It never felt so right
And we were glowing like A metal on the edge of a knife
.

Sade
Is it a Crime
It may come, it may come as some surprise
But I miss you
I could see through all of your lies
But still I miss you
He takes her love, but it doesnt feel like mine
He tastes her kiss, her kisses are not wine, theyre not mine
He takes, but surely she cant give what Im feeling now
She takes, but surely she doesnt know how
Is it a crime
Is it a crime
That I still want you
And I want you to want me too
My love is wider, wider than victoria lake
My love is taller, taller than the empire state
It divides and it jumps and it ripples like the deepest ocean
I cant give you more than that, surely you want me back
Is it a crime
Is it a crime
That I still want you
And I want you to want me too
My love wider than victoria lake
Taller than the empire state
It dives and it jumps
I cant give you more than that, surely you want me back
Is it a crime
Is it a crime
That I still want you
And I want you to want me too

Song Name: Goodnight, My Love
Goodnight, my love,
the tired old moon is descending,
good night
my love,
my moment with you now is ending.
It was so heavenly,
holding you,
close to me,
it will be heavenly,
to hold you,
again,
in my dreams.
The stars,
above,
has promised to meet us tomorrow,
till then,
my love,
how dreary the new day will seem,
so for the present dear,
we'll have to part,
sleep tight,
my love,
good night,
my love,
remember that you're mine
sweetheart.

ALANIS MORISSETTE LYRICS
"Thank U"
how bout getting off these antibiotics
how bout stopping eating when I'm full up
how bout them transparent dangling carrots
how bout that ever elusive kudo
thank you india
thank you terror
thank you disillusionment
thank you frailty
thank you consequence
thank you thank you silence
how bout me not blaming you for everything
how bout me enjoying the moment for once
how bout how good it feels to finally forgive you
how bout grieving it all one at a time
thank you india
thank you terror
thank you disillusionment
thank you frailty
thank you consequence
thank you thank you silence
the moment I let go of it was the moment
I got more than I could handle
the moment I jumped off of it
was the moment I touched down
how bout no longer being masochistic
how bout remembering your divinity
how bout unabashedly bawling your eyes out
how bout not equating death with stopping
thank you india
thank you providence
thank you disillusionment
thank you nothingness
thank you clarity
thank you thank you silence

Lyrics for: I Won't Back Down
Well I won't back down, no I won't back down
You can stand me up at the gates of hell
But I won't back down
Gonna stand my ground, won't be turned around
And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down
Gonna stand my ground and I won't back down
Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out
Hey I will stand my ground
And I won't back down
http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/cash-johnny/i-wont-back-down-750.html
Well I know what's right, I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin' me around
But I'll stand my ground and I won't back down
Hey baby there ain't no easy way out
Hey I will stand my ground
And I won't back down
No, I won't back down

Garbage
special
I'm living without you
I know all about you
I have run you down into the ground
Spread disease about you over town
I used to adore you
I couldn't control you
There was nothing that I wouldn't do
To keep myself around and close to you
Do you have an opinion?
A mind of your own?
I thought you were special
I thought you should know
But I've run out of patience
I couldn't care less
I...
I...
Do you have an opinion?
A mind of your own?
I thought you were special
I thought you should know
I used to amuse you
I knew that I'd lose you
Now you're here and begging for a chance
There's no way in hell I'd take it back
Do you have an opinion?
A mind of your own?
I thought you were special
I thought you should know
But I've run out of patience
I've run out of comments
I'm tired of the violence
I couldn't care less
I'm looking for a new
I'm looking for a new
I'm looking for a new
I'm looking for a new
We were the talk of the town
We were the talk of the town
We were the talk of the town
We were the talk of the town
I thought you were special
I thought you were special
I thought you were special
I thought you were special...
